“In our apartment, I want kids to feel like they can be themselves,” says Holly Waterfield, a Brooklyn-based interior designer, and the mother of 16-year-old Emmy and nine-year-old Bodhi. Creating a Cozy Wonderland
Cloud paintings, English garden scenery, and even a whale come to life on Holly’s living room walls. These art pieces, combined with the comforts of a pink throw pillow and handmade accents, provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. Holly believes in the power of transformation. When she first discovered her apartment, it was a single open studio. Determined to make it perfect for her family, she added walls and pocket doors to create three bedrooms. Now, even with the challenges of life, happiness reigns supreme in this enchanted space.
Swing Into Bliss
Holly’s living room swing is not just any ordinary swing. It was inspired by the magic of an art exhibit filled with 42 swings. The joy emanating from this playful addition is infectious. Her son, Bodhi, even uses it as a trapeze. The swing serves as a reminder that sometimes the simplest things can bring immense happiness.
